Although there is no official release date, keep your eyes peeled for a winter/holiday release.

In addition, updates to itemization and loadout experiences as well as streamlined class design further enhances the Star Wars: The Old Republic experience for new, returning and existing players”īeyond those fun things, BioWare is also looking to tune up its character creator and make the overall gameplay experience even better. Existing, returning and new players can look forward to improvements in creating their next Star Wars character through a refactored character creation system. BioWare explains them as such:Ĭombat Styles will allow players to fulfill their ultimate Star Wars fantasy, independently choosing a specific class story and combining it with ability sets from other related tech or force wielding classes. Combat Styles will be something all players, old and new, will have to get accustomed to. And for those wanting more co-op missions, you will be in luck as they will be including not only more co-op missions for Legacy of the Sith but also a new Flashpoint. Some of the more in-depth changes coming to the Star Wars MMO include getting the overall level cap a boost to a much-needed 80. This is only the beginning of the celebration for the 10th anniversary of the highly successful Star Wars MMO, according to BioWare. BioWareand Electronic Arts announced that Legacy of the Sith will be released later this year. I think it’s a really novel MMO idea to link alts together, but it doesn’t seem like it’s enough to win back a lot of their userbase that quit after the trial.Legacy of the Sith will be a new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic according to.

I really wish this was in the game from the start, as I would have been more inclined to play more alts. If you reach level 50, you can even unlock a race for use across all classes, which is pretty awesome from a roleplaying standpoint. There’s some pretty sick implications here, as completing Chapter 2 with a character can pass down special buffs to other alts - although abilities will be limited to use with a companion (thus excluding Warzone or Flashpoint/Op use). Wallace is pretty comprehensive in his post, as he goes into the entire background of the Skywalker family, even mentioning Mara Jade and Ben Skywalker. For those who aren’t in the know, Legacy is basically a mechanic that “links” all of your characters together into one “family”, which allows you to give said characters extra abilities. Bioware designer William Wallace (amazing!) has just put up a hot blog post explaining (in great detail) some upcoming mechanical implications for The Old Republic’s Legacy System.
